for thom's birthday this weekend, we pressed oranges to make juice in the morning and baked cheese croissants in our oven that we ate with avocado and coffee. we read our books in the shade and went for long walks by the river. we wore sunscreen for the first time. we ate on our favourite patio, and sat around a fire with best friends into the dark hours. we made homemade pizza in this kitchen and talked about change and growing up.
I gave thom a pair of these wooden bike fenders made by a friend from church, and pocket squares made by our dear friend jill. It is nice when gifts are handmade by people we love - spending doesn't feel like spending when we are putting money back into the community that supports us.
