a third heart beat

In December there will be three new names in our home, one that we do not yet know, and two we do: mumma and papa. We heard the heart beat for the first time last week. It is a young and fast heart. As new and hard-to-believe as the sound was, part of me almost recognized it.

To imagine the end of this year is to imagine flying - it can't be done. It sets my slow heart in pace with the other inside me - quick and jumping, up into my throat.



ps. It has also been unlike anything else in my life; to share this news with family and friends, to watch our joy, without pause, seamlessly, become their joy.
